Opening the Door?

I think mom has keep most of you up-to-date on Grandpa's condition, but I would like to write a few words. I know that the link between this world and the spirit world is thin. Brigham Young stated that the spirit world is right on this earth. When we all met together to discuss some of the options with grandpa's care, we sang happy birthday to him. It was not something just to make us feel better, but it was for grandpa. This world is full of surprises. Some bring us joy and some bring us sadness. But to God there are no surprises, only lessons for his children to learn. I was planning to take Mom fishing at the ponds. We talked about it all week long. Sitting in a hospital waiting room was the last thing we expected. It was an experience the we would not have asked for, but it has brought us closer to our Father in Heaven.

We are not sure what will happen with grandpa. We don't know if the days of his probation are at an end. He may soon open the door to the spirit world and close it behind him, or his hand may only be on the door knob. Perhaps the choice is with him. Maybe he will turn that knob and open that door, or maybe he will walk away from the door for a time. But we all know that sooner or later grandpa and all of us will enter open the door, have a joyful reunion with those who have gone before and then joyfully wait for those left behind to join us.

One thing I do know is that the infinite power of Christ's atonement will allow all of us to be resurrected. That we will see Grandpa Barney and Grandpa Edington again. That we will as Joseph Smith said, "Enjoy the same sociability as we have in this life". We will talk, we will joke, we will cry for those left behind that are struggling with the tests of mortality. We will have a perfect knowledge that the Lord's hand is in all things.

Please keep Grandma Barney in your prayers We love you.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KELLY

Happy birthday Kelly. I know your birthday is not until April 14th but I have time today and who knows what will happen between now and then. We sure do love you and hope you have a wonderful birthday. Time is going fast so it will be here before you know it. Jason make sure and serve her breakfast in bed and take her out for dinner somewhere nice. (That is if you don't make her a nice dinner at home) Maybe the kids at school will be especially good for you that day. I wish I could make it so you didn't have to work but that won't happen. Have a really great day.

She will be a big help but we will have to teach her to be nice to her little sister she has all ready tried to poke her eyes. We are excited for this new adventure in are lives. BRING IT ON!!!!! Parkers Surgery

Parker had his tonsils removed yesterday. I stayed overnight with him in the hospital and got home late this morning. He had a few difficulties right after surgery and throughout the day yesterday, but he is doing very well today. The only problem is that the doctors put him on oxycodone which really really helps with the pain, but it also makes him very hyper. This is a problem because we are supposed to keep him calm for at least a few days to make sure he doesn't start to bleed again. He goes through cycles feeling great when he first takes the medicine and then feeling bad again as it begins to wear off. He is either laying on the couch drouling and in pain or he is jumping up and down on the couch feeling great. We are just glad he only has pair on tonsils to remove.

Emily with her first pose

One of the nurses took this picture right after she got done with one of the test. He said she was so cute he couldn't resist, she was posing like she was a movie star or something.

Don't I look beautiful!!!

This is me while I was still in the hospital. I have been out for a couple of days now, but have been going back every 3 hours to feed Emily. I can 't wait until she is home then I don't have to keep going back and forth. Hopefully soon!!!!!!!!

baby Emily

This is Emily Evans isn't she adorable!!!! She is still in the hospital because her oxygen level is not where they what it. Kim is giving me some suggestions on how to get her home. Hopefully we can take the machine home and she can do the oxygen here. I will keep you posted.

Grandma's View

Hi! Everybody.  What a week!  Things are not quite what we hoped for just yet.  Emily has not been released from the hospital because of a low oxygen count.  Amy has been going back and forth to the hospital every 3 hours to feed Emily.   Aubrey is doing okay but is having some difficulty getting used to not having mom all the time.  She will grow up soon whether she likes it or not.

Aubrey at the Zoo

We took Aubrey to the zoo today. Aubrey especially enjoyed the giraffes and orangatans. Amy's new baby seems to be doing well, but she will have to stay a few more days. Amy will be glad to have her family together at home.

Pray for Emily

We need to pray for Emile. She will have to stay in the hospital for an additional 5 days because of a low heart rate. At the present time she is doing well, but the doctors would like to make sure every thing is going OK.
